Penang Place at Fusionopolis - Penang food buffet

Penang Place at Fusionopolis

The penang buffet spread at Penang Place includes beef rendang, assam fish, assam prawns, nasi lemak, lor bak, honey chicken, belachan chicken, spring roll, assam laksa, prawn noodle soup, rojak and more.  

Desert includes Kueh, ice kacang mango pudding.



Fusionopolis is accessible by train, at the one north station.

It was crowded on weekday lunch.  The penang char kway tiao is good and they top up small portions regularly on the buffet table each time, I guess their chef prepare small portion each time to keep up to standard instead of "mass frying" larger portions.

Besides the char kway tiao, the belachan chicken, beef rendang is good but the salted vege duck soup is not so flavourful.

Wedding banquet - Copthorne King's Hotel at Havelock Road

Copthorne Kings Hotel

Copthorne Kings is located at Havelock Road beside Miramar Hotel.  The chinese wedding banquet menu is prepared by Tien court restaurant.  Found their package which provides free flow beer from 1st course to desert for wedding banquet of more than 21 tables.

Victoria Jungfrau - Interlaken Hotel

Victoria Jungfrau - Hotel at Interlaken

The beautiful 5 star Victoria Jungfrau Grand hotel & spa in Interlaken with spacious room, good breakfast with a view and Molten brown toiletries, this was our best hotel stay during the trip.

A good night rest before the next day excursion to Jungfrau region.
There are a number of restaurants down the street.

Wedding Banquet - Marina Mandarin Singapore hotel

Marina Mandarin hotel is located next to Marina Square shopping centre.  There is the Marina Mandarin ballroom and the Vanda ballroom to cater for different capacities.  The hotel is a short walk from Cityhall mrt station or Promenade mrt station and close by Suntec City and Convention Centre.  I found their banquet rates and the good news is, their price is nett.

Wedding dinner : $1028/ $1058 (weekday)
                          $1278/ $1338 (weekend)

Tien Court Restaurant at Copthorne King's Hotel

Tien Court Restaurant is located at Copthorne Kings's Hotel at Havelock Road. They serve Cantonese and Sze Chuan cuisine.  This is my second visit to this chinese fine dining restaurant and we tried the lobster noodle, cod fish with crispy bean crumbs and from the Taiwanese menu, braised pork rice.  For wedding banquet at Copthrone King's hotel, the dishes are also served from Tien Court restaurant.

There is a min order of 2 portions for the lobster noodle.  Overall the lobster noodle is nice with a slight ginger taste.  The noodle is "crunchy" but the noodle portion is small.  Each serving comes with half a lobster.

The bean crumbs on the steam cod fish is tasty but the crumbs are little hard.

The edamame has a sesame oil flavor and the chilli shrimp paste is pretty good.

Sushi Tei

We went to Sushi Tei at thomson plaza for dinner on one of the weekends, got a seat within 15 min. 
 
They were having a seasonal spring menu and we ordered the hambuger and the sunrise meatball.
The sunrise meatball is actually minced meat with salted egg york the in centre, it was deep fried and was quite dry.

From the regular menu, we had the fried soba, Yosenabe (seafood soup), salmon teriyaki, saba teriyaki, sashimi, Gyu Yanagawa (beef with egg).

The food was served soon after we placed our orders and green tea was topped up without reminders.

Zenden restaurant is located at Gallery Hotel at Robertson Quay.  There is a 1 for 1 buffet promotion with UOB, Citibank, OCBC till end of July with block out dates. We went for a weekend buffet dinner and the restaurant was pretty packed.  The spread includes chilled prawn, mussel, prawn with celery, salmon sashimi, chicken.

Honeymoon & Travel - Switzerland Interlaken, Jungfrau Region

Honey Moon and Travel Destination: Switzerland Interlaken 

Europe will make an ideal honeymoon destination with scenic Switzerland.  Not to be missed is Interlaken and a trip to Jungfraujoch which is a train ride from Lauterbrunnen.  Enjoy the scenic train ride and have lunch facing the snow peaked mountains.  I was there during winter and enjoyed the beautiful view of snow clad mountains, it was cold at -2 degrees celcius.

Take a train from Interlaken Ost to Lauterbrunnen, from Lauterbrunnen take the scenic train ride to Jungfraujoch.
